David Prater, 62, a USPS employee, was sentenced to two years probation and granted accelerated rehabilitation after he was accused of kissing and groping his victim. Under the terms of the sentence, Prater will also undergo sex offender evaluation and treatment and was ordered to stay away from his victim.
Under accelerated rehabilitation, Prater will not plead guilty to fourth-degree sexual assault or disorderly conduct, and if he commits no further crimes, the charges will ultimately be dismissed.
According to reports, in January, the woman told police that Prater had come to her home, and when she opened the door, he kissed her and put his hand up her shirt. The woman screamed, demanded Prater leave her house and alerted police to the incident. While officers were investigating at the home, Prater reportedly came back to the home.
